So I'm wondering what's going on with my temperatures, or maybe what's going on with my CPU? Thanks in advance.Welcome Guest Visitor! Please Register, It's Free and Fun To Participate! I don't think they're running full speed because I played around with the fan speed to see how it sounds before putting it back to default max is quite a bit louder. The thing is, my fans aren't really getting that loud (either that, or I have a strange, skewed idea of what loud is after having owned a very, very loud laptop for the past 6 years). Won't be able to use it until I get home today. I don't recall if I have RealTemp but I haven't used it for this yet (why) so I might as well not have it. Maybe I don't have the right temperature meters? The ones that I do have are the one included in XTU and one that I believe is called PCMeter, which I use for a desktop gadget to monitor my CPU. I've been looking around and it seems the best I could probably hope for with my cooler, the 212 EVO, is 4.4 or so without going too high in temperature (too high being > 80C-ish, from what I gather).īut my temperatures seem to reach a hard plateau of 70C throughout the entirety of 8 hour XTU stress tests. I've been doing 8 hour stress tests in XTU using 4.2 and 4.4 GHz speeds and so far they've been passing without issue, but something that concerns me is my temps don't seem to be rising at all with my clock rate increases but the temps seem a bit low for this cooler. I'm following this guide and I'm on the first step. I'm doing my first overclock using the settings in my flair edit: 4.4 GHz, 1.25 VCore, except I'm hoping to get the clock speed up to at least 4.4 (and possibly at most if that's the best I can do I'll be very, very happy). edit: 1h 45m in, gonna leave it on overnight and then continue with the guide I mentioned. On RealTemp 3.70, Thermal Status is "OK" across the board and by CPU-Z the core speed is steady at ~4397 MHz. At this point I'm only about 11 minutes in, though. However, I'm a little concerned that core 4 is running a few degrees cooler than the rest of the cores. Update: running Prime95 26.6 and now the temperatures are in the mid (to sometimes high) 70s. Will tweak and test more before a final 24h test.

Update 2: Okay, while I haven't done a whole 24h, I just stopped running Prime95 and all tests so far have passed, max temps never exceeded 80, though one core did hit 80.
